New Sakai-Optimized Mainframe Hardware Online for State Project

As I've mentioned to a few of our customers and hinted about to others, we've now got our Mainframe equipment online in our Manchester, NH data center. We've got hardware-optimization online for the core JAVA functionality, can handle more than 120 concurrent threads and performs all of the garbage collection and other JAVA-centric tasks in hardware!

Even though the Sakai Foundation has versions of Sakai which run on Linux and Intel/AMD chips, the Sakai code itself has been developed, tested and designed to run primarily on mainframes. Their second-tier software will run on regular data-center servers, but there are no data integrity checks for the databases and there are substantial performance problems due to the lack of native hardware support for the JAVA system underneath the entire project.
